Personally, I think the Android OS is awesome! I just hate Verizon’s negative commercial tactics, they need to show “The Droid” some class.

The following is my response to Verizon’s commercial attacking the iPhone.

“iDon’t have a real keyboard.” - Neither do you.

“iDon’t run simultaneous apps.” – You won’t have battery life.

“iDon’t take 5-megapixel pictures.” – Real pictures are taken on an SLR.

“iDon’t customize.” – I can customize every page.

“iDon’t run widgets.” – Widgets are for pigets.

“iDon’t allow open development.” – You won’t have quality control.

“iDon’t take pictures in the dark.” Then turn on the light, don’t be a vampire.

“iDon’t have interchangeable batteries.” – But I have battery life through optimized hardware.

“Everything iDon’t” is baloney.

Conclusion: The only cool thing about Droid is the name, makes me feel like I am carrying around something from Star Wars.

Every now and again I will come across a commercial on TV that I think is awesome. It’s a rare event because I don’t watch that much TV and when I do it’s often from a DVR, so I’m usually skipping past them. I also think that most commercials are really annoying or stupid- but necessary for bathroom breaks, finding more food, and brining you back to reality from intense shows like Lost.

The new Lincoln MKS/MKZ commercials somehow made a blip on my radar, because I want one! The commercials are really well produced with sweet music. It’s not the typical car driving down the Pacific Coast Highway, it’s actually a commercial that took some talent in production.

You can find both of the commercials at Lincoln’s site, along with links to download the songs (from Shiny Toy Guns) they’ve used in the commercials. Lincoln’s team really thought everything through by making the commercials easily available on their site and telling you the music that was used! Now if I could afford the Lincoln MKS, I’d probably buy one.

Here is my favorite of the two, the Lincoln MKS:

Btw, Last year around this time it was the audio from the Life On Mars promo which was stuck in my head.

Surprise! Still a thief. Are times a changing for Microsoft? Profits are down & Vista’s problems are blamed on the users!

Should we really be surprised that Microsoft just lost another court case to software piracy – about software piracy!? Apparently the software giant’s business plan is more geared towards stealing software and claiming it as their own than actually writing good software. What I can’t understand is why so many people choose to support such a company? We have no problem crying foul and raising our voices when the bankers and stock brokers on wall street behave irresponsibly, so why not Microsoft?

Microsoft has intentionally stolen software several times, falsely advertised and knowingly distributed inadequate products. All things that business schools teach as being ways to fail. So why is Microsoft still a big player? Why are so many still victims to the Enron-like micro-scum? Internal emails backup many of the points I’ve just claimed.

Is it because Microsoft deliberately tried to destroy free open-source alternatives? This document shows Microsoft’s fear and threat with Linux even back in the 90’s.

Here are some great quotes from skimming the Microsoft internal emails and papers:

Remember buying that Vista-capable, yet incapable machine? Microsoft executive John Kalkman tells us why: (from Seattle PI)
“In the end, we lowered the requirement to help Intel make their quarterly earnings so they could continue to sell motherboards with the 915 graphics embedded.”

Jim Allchin: (from Seattle PI)
“If we are to rise to the challenge of Linux and Apple, we need to start taking the lessons of ’scenario, simple, fast’ to heart.”
“I would buy a Mac today if I was not working at Microsoft.”

Roger L. Kay who wrote the “White Paper” for Microsoft: (from CNNMoney)
“Microsoft did call for changes in his text — particularly in those place where he praised Apple. For example, he wrote in his original draft that Windows ‘copied’ Apple’s graphical user interface. That raised legal red flags for Microsoft’s lawyers. In the final version, the verb was changed to ‘followed.’”

At-least Apple is usually only stealing the show!
(Although, like all big players – lawsuits are unavoidable.)
Am I being more hard on Microsoft than Apple? Probably, but I believe Apple to be forward-thinking and innovative with large investments in research & design… where as Microsoft worked for how many years and all they had to show was Vista? Additionally, Apple would never blame it’s users for problems– problems are the result of poor planning, implementation, research and design.

So I guess the latest case makes reason number 4,815,162,342 why I prefer to not support Microsoft.

Here is crafty “… and I’m a PC” ad response on youtube:

Welcome to the springtime season! Temperatures on the rise, rain in the air with the sun shining… are the flowers going to bloom someone this season? Possibly – or so one and many will hope.

- – - – - – -

Here is this weeks collection of thoughts that a future suitress would probably like to take note of.

-I’m naturally a fast walker, so don’t take it personally if it feels like I’m walking away from you. Chances are I’m not, unless I make a turn and forget to notify you. However, if I like you, I will try to put the breaks on when your in those fancy lady shoes.

- Difference is compatibility. As cool as it would be if we were like totally mirrors… I enjoy Drew time in my crazy out there world. You know, my escape.

- American Idol is not a show on my radar. Ever. I don’t hold it against people though.

- Stories are fun and great when drinking at the pub, but in everyday life action overrides cheap talk and exaggeration. I’m not sure why, but I find it annoying listening to people (and coworkers) talk forever about something/ refer to the same thing over and over and spin everything into a sarcastic homage. Move on.

And finally, my favorite note on the list this week:
- Simplicity and perfection are two wonderful ingredients.

- – - – - – -

BTW: Am I the only one who can see the hours of amusement from a Jenga Pistol?

The archive has been updated and here is the playlist for this week. I know, I know the show is lacking some Irish jiggly tunes… I managed to get my fill of the holiday just walking through the South Side over to the radio station. It was crazy green. However, next year – if I’m still doing this – I will dig out some techno from the Ireland artists.

I had a fun time with this show, more so once I started to wake up around 2 when the beat kicked in. I also started branching out playing some different genres from within the electronic realm, which received some positive feedback on the phone with the people who are up in the weeee hours.

Enjoy! [Link] [Comment or email if you want in the club! It comes with a hot chick and a puppy.]

However, we can all thank Todd Richards for the lovely early morning phone call in his intense sexy voice for getting me out of bed on just a couple hours of sleep. As many know… there’s no sleeping, only drinking after his phone calls.

Anyway, the requirement for this vlog was to share something I love. My groupies at work wanted me to share with you the pie/flow chart of lady friends, I was considering my love for homemade bread; but in the end I opted for something short and simple – yet essential! My kitchen sink. Since the geyser and flooding escapade from the second week of January knocked out my kitchen, I’ve been torturing the bathroom sink with all sorts of stuff not meant for a tiny hole… even had to break out the plunger once. No more though! Just a few days ago the kitchen sink returned! Sharing my joy, here is the vlog: Love the Kitchen Sink. Seriously.

WordPress 2.7.1. My present to the blog this weekend.

Have you upgraded? Well why not?!? You should!

New administration interface. (Stellar 2009 looks and behavior!)

Thread-style comments. Awesome for those replies!

New options and features!

I have to say, its an awesome gift. A much nicer interface than the version from last spring that I was using. Although the old version of WP still beat the BlogEngine.net interface hands down. The website that I’m often a contributor at uses BlogEninge.net and if frustrates me to no end… they really, really need to upgrade to Wordpress. Really. Wordpress is like the Apple of blogging.

In view of the upgrade celebration, here is some musical ear porn!
Mark Vidler, one of my favorite remix DJ’s & producers.

Go Home Productions – Rolling Confusion

And here is an awesome show opening tune, which I’d use every week if I could!

Go Home Productions - Grandstand Supreme

I was working on one of the many drafts that I have saved so it could finally be publish when I was sent a video.

This video completely made my night after dealing with tweedle dee & twiddle dumb. It also makes me want to jazz up my own bus someday with shinny rims, polished chrome, cool seats and a sharp paint job. Due time, due time. When there’s money. Unless your donating to the cause? Or helping out with a high paying job? Maybe? Someday.

This video also reminded me of what it felt like to be working daytime parties at a roller skating rink in the summer. A bus stuffed of kids barreling’ down the street at you with arms and heads out the window with imminent chaos about to erupt.

There is also an original / official video that gives better light to the one above.

Cheers Christi for the video!
