This is 3 personal posts in a row… I’m gonna have to change that. I mean, all this election stuff going down in under a week?! Surely there is bound to be a political post brewing!

But back in my world…

Be bluntly honest:

If my mind turns to ice when I'm around a specific someone... is that a good or bad thing?

From the obesity epidemic of 2004 to the i-generation we now have the hearing epidemic. Since many people hate to take personal responsibility for anything, I think we should blame the creator of the i-generation, Apple and all their i-pods with earbuds. Or maybe we blame Sony for all those walkmans?

Maybe it would be best if people just live with their mistakes and share their experiences or lessons learned with younger generations. Not that any younger generation would listen, because its all about the “me” right now. The “Me Generation:” I want it my way and my way only, because it’s all about me and I don’t care what you have to say unless it agrees with me!

From the LazyBoy video below; one of my favorite political videos (along side “Work It Out” by Jurassic 5):

The Great Obesity Epidemic of 2004.
“How’d you get through it grandpa?”
“Oh, it was horrible Johnny, there was cheesecake and pork chops everywhere.”

Based from a Yahoo news article:
“One of three U.S. adults already suffers from some degree of hearing loss and the use of personal stereos and an aging population may create ahearing impairment epidemic, researchers said on Monday.”

Why I like Tuesday nights, Part 1

Tuesdays have always been a day of the week that seems distinguishable to me. When I was a kid they were defined by CCD (no, not the central city dump - though it felt like it at times,) but Tuesdays also have always had the feeling work - and work still to come. Yeah, I guess Mondays feel like that too - but that is expected on a Monday.
Recently though, Tuesdays have become somewhat of an excitement. One of two things which I have been looking forward to has been a show on the BBC channel “Last Restaurant Standing.
Yes, I know it is a reality show - but it doesn’t fit the stereo typical American reality show because it’s not full of drama or harsh screaming like Hell’s Kitchen. The show feels very much like a documentary. Not to mention, the camera work is like an art in the show - I love it!
If you haven’t heard about it the quick overview is… A famous / successful England chef and restaurant business man, Raymond Blanc, is looking to open up a new restaurant with someone. So to figure out who to go into business with, he is challenging 9 couples into running their own restaurant. Each week the lowest performing restaurant is closed. Eventually he will be left with his winner. However, to spice things up a bit… to pick the worst restaurant Raymond first picks the 3 lowest performing restaurants and gives them a challenge, whoever fares worst in the challenge is closed. So it makes it into an 18 episode series. He also uses current employees and restaurant managers as the judges.
What is interesting is that each of the couples get to explore and try out their own ideas, and you get to see why or why not something is successful. Such as various menu ideas and where certain people put their focus (which isn’t always right.)
Currently the team that I am rooting for most and seem to be my favorite is Jess and Laura. Jess and Laura seem to be able to communicate well with each other and focus in on their customers and tasks.
My second favorite is couple Lloyd and Adwoa. Lloyd and Adwoa had a disastrous first week, but I have been very surprised to see them bounce back and target in on a unique market segment.
Jess and Luara’s restaurant and Lloyd and Adwoa’s seem to server some really yummy and unique food which make my stomach start looking for dinner again…
So those are the 2 couples I am rooting for in the show. Have you any favorites?
