Last Wednesday turned out to be a true free-form experience when my initial planning took a dive to a technical glitch. Initially I was planning a “summer tunes” show, but I’ve decided to post-pone that till July 7th (Tuesday July 6th at Midnight to Wednesday July 7th at 4AM). However, just because my initial planning last week failed doesn’t mean the show was a loss  - because really, how can anyone screw up a free-form show? When the format is wide open, it can be fun to just play whatever the hand may snag.

WordPress 2.7.1. My present to the blog this weekend.

Have you upgraded? Well why not?!? You should!

  • New administration interface. (Stellar 2009 looks and behavior!)
  • Thread-style comments. Awesome for those replies!
  • New options and features!

I have to say, its an awesome gift. A much nicer interface than the version from last spring that I was using. Although the old version of WP still beat the BlogEngine.net interface hands down. The website that I’m often a contributor at uses BlogEninge.net and if frustrates me to no end… they really, really need to upgrade to Wordpress. Really. Wordpress is like the Apple of blogging. :)

Turkey season is over and that means it’s time for the December madness to begin! I fire things off in a true disc-jockey manor at a holiday party this Friday. Looks like the weather will be getting things in the mood all week. :) !!

Afterward, it’s onward to baking records and the holiday shenanigans.

A New Addition

As if I didn’t have enough stuff floating around that I am having to deal with as I move out… I now have 2000 more records…

What I am going to do is listen to one album from start to finish everyday, the way the artist intended. Afterwards I’ll blog what I listened to. Perhaps the thirty minutes will be a relaxing safe haven for the day…?

I picked up the collection with my buddy Ron and his Dad on our way home from the Atlantic City DJ Expo. We managed to pack all the records in the mini van with Ron in the back seat… think of it like an Ikea commercial. My parents, who were also on vacation with us, were not looking forward to stuffing their mini van full of records – infact, I’m not sure I could have even puppy dog faced that one.

Back to the boardwalk, the DJ Expo was mighty cool and quite loud. Luckily though I remembered my musician ear plugs :) ! At the expo I bought myself a turntable with changeable styluses and cartridges which is capable of playing up to 78’s. I’ll snap a picture of it when it arrives. It’s like a plan all coming together… hmm.

BTW, I made my youtube debut at the expo: (For those who don’t know me, keep your eyes peeled around the 7 minute mark “It was kickin ass in there!!” - Yes, I already know I look and sound quirky in the video… it was the alcohol talking.)
