Clinton

Congratulations America! You have just elected a fantastic political speaker and public manipulator who unfortunatly does not agree with our founding fathers, whom which I’m sure are turning in their graves right now.

You have voted for change! And when that socialistic change trickles down in the form of higher taxes, more national debt, less personal liberty, less decisions when he signs a bill as “present” and a screwed up health care system like England’s… I can atleast say, you voted for it America.

As for me? Luckily I can hide much of my income under the table to prevent my wealth from being distributed.

On the positive side, I’m happy America was able to vote a black man into office, just a shame it was this one. Adam said it well.

On the brighter side, Atleast this guy will probably keep his pants on in the oval office. Bush had no chance of getting any like his predecessor.

Politics is just another phrase for bad girl drama… except it’s gender neutral and slightly celebrity-ish. It’s all about talking behind backs and being two faced, pointing the finger and claiming no responsibility, trying to stay off of CNN when you do something wrong and on when you think your right and ofcourse taking back handed deals.

My personal opinion to the solution of this economic crisis is very simple. If these companies need money, then they should go after everyone they gave multi million dollar bonus for doing such a good job of running the company into the ground and get those bonus back. Problem solved.

Now this is what kills me, see… these companies have been having problems for some time now and it’s been well known and documented. Yet, these financial companies kept giving out money and people kept reciveing as typical greedy politicians and executives do.

Looking at the list on public record:
Campaign Contributions

Okay. So those are all democratic party leaders. Note that the list is not party specific, the republicans start showing up at number five… McCain is not even on that list of the top 25.

Now there is Hilliarly Clinton… okay, okay… we can just assume she’s going to pull the, “I did not know” card – it’s a Clinton style and tradition. But Obama? Come on… I thought you were representing change!!? I’m starting to think that the only change you’re representing is that of your color. Because I want to believe you are full of change, I want to believe you are full of hope… but everywhere I look your just a same damn old greedy politician. The more I dig for information on you, the less hope I see. I’m sorry… I’d like to believe a candidate is all about change and hope, but how can I put my hope into someone knowingly takes campaign contributions from a failing company that is going to ask for tax payer money? It’s like having my tax dollars feed your party. Well I’m a Libertarian and I don’t want my money in your pocket.

If you, Mr. Obama, were all about change and hope… you’d be giving back your campaign contributions AND asking for all those people who had multi-million dollar bonus to hand back the money the received. That is the real bailout solution.

The other real solution is bankruptcy, not bailouts.
Here is an excerpt from an excellent article on CNN – one of the few they have:

“The current mess would never have occurred in the absence of ill-conceived federal policies. The federal government chartered Fannie Mae in 1938 and Freddie Mac in 1970; these two mortgage lending institutions are at the center of the crisis. The government implicitly promised these institutions that it would make good on their debts, so Fannie and Freddie took on huge amounts of excessive risk.

Worse, beginning in 1977 and even more in the 1990s and the early part of this century, Congress pushed mortgage lenders and Fannie/Freddie to expand subprime lending. The industry was happy to oblige, given the implicit promise of federal backing, and subprime lending soared.

This subprime lending was more than a minor relaxation of existing credit guidelines. This lending was a wholesale abandonment of reasonable lending practices in which borrowers with poor credit characteristics got mortgages they were ill-equipped to handle.”

With the last primary elections taking place tomorrow, 20 years of bliss for the families may becoming to an end. Bill Clinton’s speech seemed to have some heart in it and if Obama-mania continues, it will be different to not hear Bill campaigning aggressively.

As much as I give the Clintons grief for their campaign tactics, I like their determination and hard-working attitude. Looking at the amount of events and stops they cram into a day is quite impressive.

I admit that I do not agree with the seating of the delegates in Florida and Michigan. Seating the delegates is like changing the rules of a football game during the game. Florida and Michigan chose to hold their primaries early fully knowing that the delegates would not be seated. If it was such a big issue for them, then they should have dealt with it months ago before the primary season.

Well said Bill:

As I question why my home state wants another Clinton in the White House… (really, my whole life aside from the first 4 years has either been a Bush or a Clinton in the white house)… Do we really need to keep control of the country under the same 2 families? Do we really need someone that doesn’t know how to be a leader or take on the responsibility associated with leadership? Do we really need someone who lies and back-stabs at every waking moment? Do we really need someone who will in all likely keep Washington status-quo?

In the good news portion of the day, aside from a free shower at work, I stumbled upon a new youtube favorite. I feel as if this video has read my mind, everything said is incredibly true and often experienced/felt by DJs. I just love patrons/listeners who act like micromanagers.

Clinton wants Florida and Michigan primary results to be counted

Of course you do Clinton, that is because you were the winner. Never mind the fact that many voters decided not to vote those days because they knew their votes would not count. So really, if those states are to be counted in the primary, then shouldn’t a re-vote take place?

Strange too… how at the time you said the contests “didn’t count for anything,” but now you want them to count. I think you, Hillary Clinton are just getting desperate for votes. I’d approve counting those delegates if a re-vote took place, so everyone would have fair attempt at placing a vote in a primary election that would count.

I love all the spice in this election, the Clintons sure know how to make a good story for the books.

Stop the voting! Your opinion doesn’t matter, Dean needs his decision and it can only come from super delegates.

Well, I’m glad you want a decision Dean. Why not let the rest of the primary voting season finish… after all… the voters are the important ones. Yes, I can see the point of arguing you need to build up an official party campaign, but why not let the democratic voters vote for their pick. I applaud the super delegates who are waiting on their decisions till after a few more primaries – it’s the way it should be. I, for one, am part of the small clan of people that would like the decision to go all the way to the convention.

Having so much excitement and competition in the race is already making for a great story in the history books – I’d love the Hollywood ending right now; at the finish line, at the convention.

The Olympic Boycotts (or those ideas of such)

When I heard about the Olympic protesters in England over the weekend I was a little shocked, but not surprised. Then I heard the latest from Hillary today – which as it usually does, just prove to me why she’ll never get my vote.
So lets face the facts. Yes, the Chinese are not the nicest people in the world. Yes, they do very unpopular and inhumane things. Yes, they hate the idea human rights. Yes they are controlling communists. We have known all this for years.
So what is the big deal now?
We decided that the Chinese would host the Olympics… Now maybe it wasn’t thought all through what that would entail. The first thing I think of is that: it’s their country, their rules. Whether we agree with their rules or not, it is their country and we have to respect that. Just as we expect them to follow our rules when they come here. Second, there are some hot-button issues over that way now, would that cause implications? (yes)
So I can understand why people are protesting, but at the same time, I am also don’t understand why people are protesting now – especially when there are other more powerful ways to protest.
When I join a protest I ask:
1) What will be gained? – In this case, publicity.
2) What will be lost? – The spirit of the games, especially for young & first time viewers.
3) What will happen (or not happen)? – The Chinese will most likely not change. People will just get angry and there will be silent and violent protests.
4) Who will be hurt? – The athletes will be effected, Vendors that support or provide products and services.
5) Is there a more effective solution? – Yes.
Perhaps a more effective solution would require a temporary lifestyle change (just imagine how well that would go over.)
I am thinking that the most effective solution would be a straight boycott of Chinese production. That would get some attention much more than a boycott of the Olympics. The boycotting the Olympics would effect the whole world and athletic community, a boycott of Chinese production hurts the Chinese directly. But who wants to give up cheap inhumane products from China? Who wants to give up their new laptops and technology till plants could be moved elsewhere?
It is much more convenient to show your point of view by a protest to sooth your conscious and then return to the chinese-product-laden world.
Really though, The Olympics are a time for the world to come together in sport with the best athletes. I’d really hate to see the spirit of the Olympics or the best talent not perform because the Chinese are being Chinese. What did you expect by having the Olympics over there? So just let the games be games and voice your opinion with your purchasing power.
As for Hillary, well… I agree that I’d like to see the situation improve in Tibet. Who wouldn’t? But is boycotting the Olympics opening ceremony the best way? Perhaps I am wrong, and this will open lots of eyes and cause the chinese to concede to some change. Anything is possible… but if you are going to boycott one thing, why not boycott some cheap Chinese products now (like toys and dog food?)
And here the Clintons go again with the lies… thank-you media watchdog.
If they lie in the campaign, they will lie in the office – just like they did eight years ago. Why is a blatant liar still being considered for president?
“I remember landing under sniper fire…” Do you think that the government would have actually landed you (the first lady) in a dangerous situation? I think you (Hillary Clinton) are dreaming of experiences that you do not have.

This is why…

The Clintons want back in the White House… and Bush doesn’t want to leave.
Same two families lovin the good life. Damn it feels good.

As a slight follow up to yesterdays post…

This what a leader does. This is what a person in charge does.

“McCain approached reporters afterward to tell them he has “respect” for Obama and Clinton, and will treat them accordingly. He said he had no idea who brought Cunningham on stage, but “I take responsibility, and I apologize.”"

Notice how McCain did not pull a Clinton “I have no idea.”

Even though I am not to thrilled at the idea of McCain in the White House, I can at least have respect for the man.
