Teddy bears are generally known to convey warm feelings of affection. It’s even nicer when one can bring you a happy ending. As with family members getting elderly there have been times when we’ve had troubles with certain caretakers or cleaning crews. A teddy cam would have probably alleviated much of the stress and damage; in addition to future people getting hurt.

Time to find a bear-cam that roars.

A forensic science graduate and her father caught his terminally ill mother’s care assistant stealing by putting a camera in a teddy bear’s eye.

It’s the crazy scientists that I like the most; The ones that think outside the box. I am a huge fan of Nicola Tesla, yeah the crazy guy who wanted to build a death-ray. But Tesla had some revolutionary ideas and inventions which contributed to much of the technology during the twenty century (and even today still!) If you are ever fortunate enough to bribe from me my list of dead or alive people that I’d like to meet, Tesla is at the top.

Another wonderful scientist which I am going to start reading more about is the french scientist Jacques Benveniste. Benveniste believed that water cold hold a memory… if he was right, then he has totally changed history and just about every physic book ever written. Check out the BBC article on him, is a good one. And if you want to dig down deep and be nerdy there is a great briefing of Jacques Benveniste on wikipedia.

The toosie would be the highlight of the day on a heated seat! This is the cool royal throne… full of gadgets, bottom flushers, stereos, and a remote. Imagine having guests over and you freak them out when you flush the toilet on them… mwhahaz

Now the above is sweet, but this one below is starting to get a little obsessive. Not sure how I feel about the urine and blood pressure screening while I’m visiting the ‘jon. Some things are just not meant for the water closet.

Why I Like Tuesday Nights Part II

As I mentioned in a previous post a few weeks ago… Tuesday Nights are a fairly cool at the moment. In part 1 I talked about the BBC TV show, Last Restaurant Standing. In part II, we move from the BBC Television department to the BBC Radio department.
Every week not only do I get in the mood for some food, but also a dose of the Asian Underground music in London. The show is called Bobby Friction & Nihal and is on at midnight in London making it a 7PM show in my book.
The show explores a unique genre of music that I have become quite attached to, probably because it is a mixture / mashup of electronic and urban music. Often the music is upbeat, but there is also the occasional mellow or tranquil tune. In fact, they feature some rather cool night time driving music. Perhaps I also like the show because it has the BBC production sound and I may be a slight sucker for the British radio accent - it just sounds rather intelligent.
My recent favorites:

Delhi to Detroit by Munty

‘Ching’ by Swami
Bethe Bethe Kese Kese (Pathaan’s Heavenly Remix) by Gaudi & Nusrat Ali Khan
SuperNova by Radiohiro
So what are you waiting for? Check out the show via listen again!

Why I like Tuesday nights, Part 1

Tuesdays have always been a day of the week that seems distinguishable to me. When I was a kid they were defined by CCD (no, not the central city dump - though it felt like it at times,) but Tuesdays also have always had the feeling work - and work still to come. Yeah, I guess Mondays feel like that too - but that is expected on a Monday.
Recently though, Tuesdays have become somewhat of an excitement. One of two things which I have been looking forward to has been a show on the BBC channel “Last Restaurant Standing.
Yes, I know it is a reality show - but it doesn’t fit the stereo typical American reality show because it’s not full of drama or harsh screaming like Hell’s Kitchen. The show feels very much like a documentary. Not to mention, the camera work is like an art in the show - I love it!
If you haven’t heard about it the quick overview is… A famous / successful England chef and restaurant business man, Raymond Blanc, is looking to open up a new restaurant with someone. So to figure out who to go into business with, he is challenging 9 couples into running their own restaurant. Each week the lowest performing restaurant is closed. Eventually he will be left with his winner. However, to spice things up a bit… to pick the worst restaurant Raymond first picks the 3 lowest performing restaurants and gives them a challenge, whoever fares worst in the challenge is closed. So it makes it into an 18 episode series. He also uses current employees and restaurant managers as the judges.
What is interesting is that each of the couples get to explore and try out their own ideas, and you get to see why or why not something is successful. Such as various menu ideas and where certain people put their focus (which isn’t always right.)
Currently the team that I am rooting for most and seem to be my favorite is Jess and Laura. Jess and Laura seem to be able to communicate well with each other and focus in on their customers and tasks.
My second favorite is couple Lloyd and Adwoa. Lloyd and Adwoa had a disastrous first week, but I have been very surprised to see them bounce back and target in on a unique market segment.
Jess and Luara’s restaurant and Lloyd and Adwoa’s seem to server some really yummy and unique food which make my stomach start looking for dinner again…
So those are the 2 couples I am rooting for in the show. Have you any favorites?
